There is already a lot of help on the Internet to help guide you through the financial difficulties that you may be experiencing, but I wanted to put together a shortened , current and simplified version-with government links for further reading .

This information is by no means exhaustive but information I feel would help the type of businesses I would offer my services to.

SEISS-Self Employment Income Support Scheme

This grant is specifically to help the Self Employed and members of a Partnership who have been adversely affected by COVID.

Applications for the 4th grant have now closed but there is time to claim for the 5th grant which will close on the 30th September 2021.

To be eligible for this grant you must:

- be self-employed or a member of a partnership and you must have traded in 2019-20 and 2020-21

- have submitted your 2019-20 return by the 2nd March 21

- have trading profits of no more than £50,000

- have trading profits at least equal to your non-trading profits

- intend to keep trading in 2021-22

- reasonably believe there will be a significant reduction in your trading profits due to the impact of COVID-19 between 1st May 2021 and 30th September 2021.

This grant does not need to be repaid but must be included on your Self Assessment tax return.
